So how goes it?

Guess he doesn't sell many kits. Confused

As much as I'm a TAMA person you really need to hear it first. Specially when they mix up diffident types of wood. But I'm sure you know that already.

I played one of the higher end Tamas the other week, in the bubinga finish, must have been a starclassic or performer and it sounded really poor Sad Bass drum was really horrible, the toms were ok, but ive heard better on lesser kits.

I know its your preference and you should buy what you like, but i thought id hand in my 2 cents Smile

Just to check , was it a new kit in a store or someone's set ? Was it tuned right with good heads , etc . I just can't beleive a set with such great reviews sounded bad because of the shells themselves . Stock they come with Evans G2's , I'm not sure what the EQ4 bass heads sound like but ............

Was it maybe a 18 x 20 bass ?? with a pillow choking it !! Razz

Well we just got a new " free dog " rescued from a shelter . So far with the $300.00 " donation " and the first vet trip with pre- meds and vac's and various trips to the pet store the " free dog " is
up close to $1,000.00 . Just had to replace the canister filter for my fish tank , that was about 125 . I can't complain because the last one lasted 23 years . Fluval , that's a product I would recommend !!
That and my truck just got tuned up and now needs back brakes . Christmas is coming and we're in a bad recession . NO PROBLEM !!! Razz

I still have a stash ( as in my wife don't know about it ) of about
$1,200.00 for the drums . When I see about 8 jobs on the band schedule for 2010 I'll CC the balance . I'm guessing I'll pull the trigger around mid February after the sticker shock of November a December subsides.

I still need to play a few different models . I'm pretty bummed about Sandro's review of the Tama . I was stoked for that kit .

Playing tomorrow night so that will add a few more bucks to the kitty . Wink

Hmmm hope your wife doesn't read this forum.

Reminds me of when they were thinking of paying us by mailing out a check. Some of the guy's were not happy because their wife's would find out how much they earned.

We have mandatory direct deposit at work for the past few years .
Even quarterly bonuses are direct . That use to be my mad money when it was a live check . Now I can only submarine the band money !!

As my wife would say when winning a dollar on a 5 dollar scratch off ,

" it beats a blank ! " Very Happy Shocked
