And have you have any problems with it?
I want to get a small USB/Firefire interface for use with my laptop. I also have the condition that it has to work on Linux. The US-122 does, but the newer US-122L does not.
Just looking around at the moment.
EDIT: Ha I just realised I made this exact same post a year and a half ago... |

Hey Michael ,
Haven't been on the net in a few weeks . Working mad hours at work and had to learn about thirty tunes to fill in with a band for a 4th of July barbee this past weekend .
Yeah , I still have a US-122 . Mostly just use it for voice overs on home movie vids or to input a little Yamaha keyboard to the pc .
I did start having issues with it a few years back before I got my PreSonus FirePod . Going in > it works fine , records nice and all . The trouble is with the playback <. Started getting pops and skips at random intervals . I tried every possible fix ( even though nothing had changed in the software settings or pc ) . Just something with the D/A converters I'm sure .
Why will the new 122L not work ?? They are USB 2.0 and the old ones are just 1.0 .
So anyway , how have you been . Congrats on all your scholarly achievements . Way to go dude !! _________________ Mike

Ah ok cool. Yeah, unfortunately the 122L has a different chipset inside, for which there is no driver available for Linux. Kind of annoying for me because I use it as my main OS nowadays.
As for the scholarly stuff, its all a work in progress at the moment. I should be half way through in October. |

Hey guys, how are you doing?
I've had a year at college doing music and have learned a fair amount .
I now know a lot more about recording and have my eye on this:
http://www.presonus.com/products/Detail.aspx?ProductId=43
It's a PreSonus FireStudio Project and i'm buying it from an american website. It actually works out cheaper getting it sent over and not only that, it comes with a couple of free cables and a PreSonus Faderport!!
My laptop meets the specs except I'm not too sure of the RPM of my Hard Disk. I was thinking of getting an external hard drive that is 7200rpm but only have one firewire port, which I will need to use for the FireStudio Project itself. I read somewhere that by putting the external hard drive through USB 2.0 that it might affect the latency due to the fact it goes through the motherboard as apposed to hot wiring.
What do you guy's think? _________________ Billy is my name and drumming is my game.....and also rugby cause thats really a game. |
